Here’s what they had to say…
Paul, just a quick message to say thank you so much.
Just back from the game, what an experience.
I’ll 100% be using you again and making sure I recommend you to everyone I speak to!
Legend, thank you sir 👍🏻
We’ll definitely book another tennis holiday with you next year!
There’s only one Milan?
All those years we sang this song at Fratton Park and even at the time I questioned it!😉
Well I can tell you that there’s more than one, and just last year I was at San Siro to witness this watching the Derby della Madonnina between (the Mighty) A.C.Milan and Inter! There couldn’t have been a better time as Inter were top of Serie A and the Mighty second. Okay, I accept there could have been when the likes of Van Basten, Gullit, Maldini & Baresi were playing and AC ruled!
The day was wet beginning with our climb to the rooftops of The Duomo and even the makeshift umbrellas we hurriedly bought for that were insufficient for the night, so we purchased four rather fetching pink ponchos to keep us dry. Happily unlike Old Trafford this old stadium remained watertight throughout the match and we stayed in the dry!
We had a buffet meal in the club museum before the game and I introduced everyone to a Negroni which is seen as a Milanese staple. None of the others liked the drink.
The atmosphere in the ground was fantastic and the noise generated was exceptionally loud! The game itself proved eventful with three players sent off and featured two Englishmen for Milan, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fiyuki Tomori with the latter scoring the only goal for Milan.
Inter won 2-1 thereby clinching the title or Scudetto!
Cue fireworks and much celebration from one end of the ground! The Curva Nord is filled with the Inter ultras and The Curva Sud the Milan faithful. What impressed me was that all around us there were families seemingly evenly split in their affiliations and all wearing their colours with no visible signs of any trouble.
Indeed immediately in front of us were a father and son, with Dad cheering Milan, and errant son openly delighted with Inter’s goals and victory!
We got back to the hotel around 1.00am having decided not to join in the continuing revelry around The Duomo. Indeed as you may have gathered I was in the wrong camp anyway👀
With the San Siro due to be demolished next year we were pleased to sample the atmosphere there before it disappears.
All in all a brilliant day and the climax to a fun filled weekend once again expertly organised by Paul at City & Arena Travel.
This year we are off to Rio de Janeiro – yet another trip to South America, following our experience in Argentina to see Boca Juniors play River Plate in Buenos Aires some years ago, when we took in the splendour of Iguazu Falls.
The Madrid Open as an event was amazing, as was the venue. Travel around the city was easy on the metro and our hotel was a good standard. The power cut happened for around 12 hours during our visit but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits – I will always take some cash on any future trips, as this was essential.
We plan to use you again this year!
At a quick count we have been on 8 football trips arranged by Paul, with another to follow next March.
That in itself is recommendation of the first class professional service always received.
Transport, hotels and match tickets all done for you.
What’s not to like!
We did a trip to Napoli, with a side trip to Lazio. Flights, tickets and hotel all booked for us by Paul, who we have used since, I think 1997. I think that says it all.
He has always looked after us well, including a trip to Buenos Aries to see Boca juniors. We will always contact Paul for our annual trip, he’s so good at organising and so helpful.
We will be going somewhere early next year, and will be in contact. We are actually going to discuss over the week. We are thinking of doing a two country break, one match in Prague and one in Dresden.
I contacted Paul, via the internet, to book a trip to Turin so my step sons could go to a Juventus game. I made 1 call and Paul organised everything impeccably. I’m very impressed with the amazing customer service and will certainly use Paul again for our next trip.
Thanks Paul for another great trip, this time to Valencia. Everything ran smoothly and a good game to boot.
I’d like to take this time to say thanks for the trip that you organised for my friend and I. We have been fans of the Premier League for quite some time, and being from the USA, the matches aren’t very accessible. You organized a briliant trip for us both, and did it at a great price – not to mention the night out on the town that you and your colleague showed us! Your efforts made our trip very enjoyable and care-free! It was a great time for us, and we would like to say thanks for that. I would highly suggest City & Arena Travel to anyone who wishes to travel abroad or domestically for sporting events.
Thanks Paul for all your help in planning and arranging a number of trips. We have been to Madrid then Barcelona for El Clasico then Turin, Munich, Lisbon and Paris! We have had a brilliant time thanks largely to your attention to detail!
We are now looking forward to the so called SuperClasico in Buenos Aires in a few month time!
I would not hesitate recommending you to anyone and hope to continue working with you on future travels!
Used City and Arena several times and recommend them highly. Very professional and great service. Top score!
